Copywriting for a credit score & comparison firm.
The client.
Experian is a multinational data analytics and credit reference agency. Essentially, they collect a lot of data from lenders, public records and other sources. Experian uses this data to help people understand their chances of getting approved for credit cards, loans, mortgages and car finance. They have a paid subscription for customers who want more insight into their data. Experian also works with lenders to help people compare credit offers.
Our relationship.
I have a longstanding relationship with Experian that dates back to 2017. Their UK content team frequently calls on me to produce digital content for their high-traffic website and large mailing lists. They trust me for many reasons, including my:
Plain language and research skills
Knowledge of personal finance
Awareness of industry regulations
Sensitivity to customer pain points like money worries
Track record of meeting deadlines with spot-on copy
My work.
Informational SEO guides
I have written 100+ guides on personal finance topics for Experian. My plain language expertise allows me to explain the often complex concepts in ways that are easy for users to understand. I also improve on-page SEO by strategically using keywords and internal linking.
Examples:
Marketing emails
Experian’s CRM team has asked me to write sequenced emails on several occasions. I drove engagement with snappy, personalised copy that complemented other touch points in the user journey.
UX copy
I have written login pages, notifications, headings and microcopy for Experian’s web apps. Drawing on their existing user insights, I produced copy variants for A/B testing to create a smoother user experience.
