The client.

Last Call Media is a digital services firm working with government agencies and impact-driven organizations since 2005. They provide UX design, development and testing services using an agile, human-centered approach. Last Call Media’s work with clients like the Commonwealth of Massachusetts makes a direct impact on people’s lives, helping them access essential services faster.

Our relationship.

I’ve been working with Last Call Media since 2023. Their Marketing Manager (who knew me from a previous job) called me in to craft new brand language for the company. After the project finished, she hired me on a retainer to write landing pages, blog posts, case studies and other content.

My successes with Last Call Media come down to:

  • Accessible, empathy-driven content

  • Knowledge of UX design, development and open source

  • Ability to quickly understand the complex government sector

  • Previous experience working with digital agencies

My work.

Brand language

I worked closely with the Marketing Manager on this project, grounding my work in her research into stakeholders, clients and competitors. I crafted a brand narrative and brand voice, working iteratively and collaboratively with the wider team to ensure alignment. I also wrote “about” boilerplate, a headlines bank, and copy for the client’s homepage and social media pages.

Service landing pages

As an extension of the brand language project, I wrote new copy for the company’s services pages on their website. I helped the Marketing Manager realise her vision for a novel approach to these pages — one that prioritises evidence and results as the best way of explaining a service offering.

Blog posts

I’m currently helping the client develop and implement a new content strategy, which includes building out content clusters around key topics. Working closely with subject matter experts, I have written about:

“Peggy’s content masterfully balances marketing essentials like SEO and CTAs with a deep understanding of the subject. Our experts consistently praise how authentically she captures complex topics.”
